Weddings are fun, celebratory, and a perfect opportunity to dress up and put your best foot forward. But choosing a cute wedding guest dress can be a difficult task regardless of how close you are to the happy couple.
They are a lot of factors that go into choosing an outfit for a wedding as a guest like the dress code for the wedding if there is one, the venue, how grand is the wedding? general practices like your outfit shouldn’t upstage the bride either it should be too casual. But that’s what makes weddings exciting, isn’t it? the hustle and bustle of finding the right dress. Today, I am sharing 2 dresses from JCPenney -one formal and one casual both appropriate to the Summer weather.
JCPenney is the first store that comes to my mind when it comes to finding occasion wear dresses at an affordable price. They have a fabulous collection of modest dresses with neat neckline and hem lengths (without any slits) which is really hard to find these days. They are currently having a huge sale and the dresses I picked are both under $50.
2 Cute Wedding-Guest Dresses for Summer
1. Hi-low Dress
I know a lot of people don’t prefer wearing black to weddings. Personally, I never really had an opinion on it but when I saw Victoia Beckham in a black dress for the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. I absolutely loved it, she looked poised and honestly herself. So, if it defines your personality, then go for it, don’t bother what others will say unless the bride says strictly no black.
Wearing: Dress (wearing size 6; sized up 1 size ) c/o JCPenney | Staud Bag (last seen here) | Black heels (also like this and this) | similar Chandbali Earrings | Necklace | Rings 1,2 | Lipstick in Nopal
This Jackie Jon dress looks very elegant and will be great for a black tie or any formal wedding. The hi-low detail and the shiny fabric adds an oomph to the dress and makes it perfect for a grand Indian wedding or sangeet function too.
The selling point for me about the dress was the hi-low hem. I tend to get attracted to the asymmetrical hems, they easily make an outfit stand out (when stitched properly). The beige and black combo look sophisticated.
I went with the mood of the dress and added black accessories- black earrings, cuff and wore black heels. And little of coolness with the pastel pink pouch bag from Staud. The dress also comes with a black belt which is not pictured. I liked the dress better without the belt.
2. Floral Dress
You can never go wrong with a Floral or pastel dress for a spring/summer weddings. They go with any aesthetics whether it’s an indoor or an outdoor wedding.
Wearing: Floral dress (under $50; wearing size 6) c/o JCPenney | Castaner Wedges (also available here; last seen here) | Staud Bag | Hoop Earrings | Bracelets 1,2,3 | Necklace (wearing only the first layer) | Illesteva Sunglasses (similar 1,2,3)
I love the fitting of this R & K Originals floral maxi dress. It hugs the body in the right places, the ruffled hemline is beautiful and feminine. I went with the season trendy accessories, coined necklace, and hoop earrings.
