Spring and Summer are the seasons of pastels, florals, and brighter hues but it doesn’t mean you have to ditch every single piece of black clothing from your wardrobe.

Black is classy, simple and unwaveringly the most versatile color to wear all year long. Having said that, be mindful of the weather before putting together an all black outfit: wearing a black leather jacket on a sunny day is a big NO. You want your outfit to be comfortable and breathable.

Here are 6 Tips on How to Wear an All Black Outfit in Spring and Summer:

1. Keep either your top or bottom breathable. Like wearing a black trouser with a black t-shirt.
2. Stay away from fabrics like velvet, wool, leather that is not weather approved. You don’t want to be melting in your outfit.
3. Comfortable black tops like a black lace blouse, off the shoulder top, cotton camisoles, line black shirt are lightweight, breathable and will look polished with jeans, shorts, and skirts.
4. Leather jackets are still passable for spring and chilly summer nights when paired with lightweight tops and sandals.

In past years, I would have strayed away from wearing black on black, especially during spring and summer. But guess what, I’m kind of loving it!
