Getting dressed for work in summer can be challenging. In fact, your outfit has to withstand the scorching temperatures on your commute while not freezing you to death at your desk. In short, your summer office outfits must include lightweight layers, easy throw-on-and-go dresses, midi skirts that won’t require you to wear stockings, and comfortable shoes.
Ann Taylor is currently having their biggest summer sale of 50% off everything with code SUMMER. Below, I styled 2 office outfit ideas from their latest summer collection that will take you from day meetings to various post-work activities without breaking a sweat.
2 Summer Office Outfit Ideas
Summer Formal Business Outfit Idea:
The sheath dress is an easy basic for so many offices, from formal to conservative to business casual. This square neck sheath dress with impeccably clean checks is extremely breathable and versatile. The fit is remarkably flattering and it’s true to size. I haven’t bought a sheath dress in years because I couldn’t find one that fit me right.
When I tried on this dress, I was sure that it was not going to work out but wow! It did! It hides my tummy and makes my hips look flattering, that doesn’t happen with every sheath dress. I highly recommend this dress if you’ve had an apple/pear shape body. In fact, it will look great on every body type.
You can easily wear this dress throughout the year with proper layering. I styled the dress with a short jacket and a cardigan to give you an idea of how it looks when layered.

2. Summer Semi-Formal / Casual Office Outfit Idea
I love the color and fit of this dress. It is cool, lightweight and falls just right. The tie across the waist cinches perfectly. This dress will be perfect to wear to a summer wedding or graduation or to a date night. It’s a must-have and a versatile dress for the season.
These polka dot slingbacks are so fun! They are comfortable and great height not too high but now too low. They’re comfortable to walk in for a short period of time but wouldn’t recommend them for long commutes. I love how the heels brighten up the outfit without being too much.
