Last year I finally invested in Patagonia Down It Parka after having it in my wishlist for 2 years. I didn’t find a need for a heavy-duty winter jacket up until we got a puppy.
I walk Bagheera for 20-40 mins every day and while I do that I want to be in comfy clothes preferably pj’s. So, I splurged on the Patagonia Jacket because I wanted something that would last for several years, truly keep me warm, and that is under $300.
The princess seams on the Patagonia Down Parks give it a form-fitting and flattering shape. I would recommend sizing up if you plan on wearing bulky sweaters. I am wearing the jacket in the size M.
What I love about the Patagonia Down It parka
1. Insulated removable hood
Patagonia Down it parka comes with an adjustable hood that allows you to cinch it close to your face to keep water, wind and cold air out. Furthermore, the idea of the fleece-lined collar is genius. It’s soft, comfy and warm.
2. Recycled Down
The parka is made with 100% recycled down and polyester. And it is processed, cut and sewn at a Fair Trade factory that promotes sustainable livelihoods, and dignified working conditions for their workers.
3. Super Warm
The parka is extremely warm with 600-fill-power down. The North Face’s Metropolis Parka that is retailed at almost the same price ($289) as the Patagonia parka comes with 500-fill-power down. And the popular Arc’teryx Patera Parka that retails at $649 comes with 750 fill-power down.
4. Knee-length coverage
The Down it parka is 38 inches in length with side-seam snap details for movement. More length means more insulation aka warmth!
5. Handwarmer Pockets
The Down it Parka comes with fleece-lined and insulated pockets. The pockets are generously sized with zip closure. The parka also features a large internal zippered chest pocket for keeping valuables safe and warm.
The other good investment I made last year is these Sorel Next boots. Can we talk about how stylish the boots look? let me tell you they are equally functional. The quality, construction, and appearance are 5 stars on these boots.
They are warm and comfortable with waterproof leather and fleece with thermal footbed. They fit true to size. I got them in my regular shoe size 6.
Last but not least. I want to rave this cowlneck tunic from Loft. I don’t usually buy tunic sweaters because they don’t look flattering on curvy bodies but this one looks sleek without being too tight. Plus, I love the color, so pretty. It’s not too thick so you can absolutely wear it in spring.
