If you have followed me for quite some time, you know that I am a big movie buzz. I can watch movies in any language if I know that the story is good and it’s well presented. Today I am sharing  Top 50 Best South Indian Movies to watch of 2019-2020 on Amazon Prime, Netflix and few on Einthusan.

I know a lot of you love Bollywood movies and perhaps watched a TON of them. In this post, I want to highlight the other corner of Indian Cinema that is equally amazing and probably more content-driven.

South Indian Cinema consists of 4 regional language film industries- Telugu Cinema (Tollywood), Tamil Cinema (Kollywood), Malayalam Cinema (Mollywood), and Kannada Cinema (Sandalwood). Each industry has its own style of movie-making.

Malayalam – These movies are simple, so real, so touching that you’ll want more and more of the characters just like you feel when you read a good book. Bangalore days, Premam, Drishyam, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Ustad Hotel,  Kammati papadam are a few of my all-time favorite movies.

Tamil – A lot of experimental movies. It’s the only industry in India that can make movies on absolutely raw subjects like Visaranai, Vadachennai, Kaadhal, beautiful love stories like Sakhi, 96, Roja, Bombay, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaacore and commercial movies that sometimes don’t make any sense. The beauty of this industry is that people accept all sorts of variety.

Telugu– Movies which I absolutely enjoy watching since Telugu is my native language. The industry in recent times has made some exceptional movies like Eega, Arjun Reddy, Rangasthalam, Chi la sow, C/O Kancherapalem, Pellichupulu which are very different from the typical stereotypical Telugu movies where the hero is hyped and glamorized. Telugu people are known to not accept change easily. We want our heroes to win and movies to end on a happy note ALWAYS but the younger audience and filmmakers are craving change and I am here for it.

Kannada– The number of good movies the Kannada industry produces is less compare to other film industries in the south but it sure has some extra-ordinary movies that made other industries make a run for it like Uturn, Lucia, Kirik Party, Rangi Tarangi, Operation Alamelamma.

Now that you got an idea about the South Indian Film industry and some of the cult popular movies in all the 4 languages. We will get into today’s post on
