Welcome to my new series, eco-friendly Tips, where I will share plastic-free or zero-waste alternatives to daily-use products or tips on re-using or upcycling. Today, I am 10 Ways to Upcycle Glass Jars and Bottles

Glass is 100% recyclable. It has an unlimited life and can be melted and recycled endlessly to make new glass products without losing quality. Americans dispose of 10 million metric tons of glass annually. Most of it ends up in the trash. Only about one-third gets recycled. So instead of trashing used glass jars and bottles, here are some great ideas on how you can upcycle glass jars and bottles.

10 Ways to Upcycle Glass Jars and Bottles

1.  For bulk shopping

If you have access to bulk stores (where you can put food directly in your own containers to avoid packaging), glass jars are perfect. Ensure the weight of the jar is recorded (do it yourself at home or a staff member at the store can help you do this) on the jar so you don’t end up paying for it.

Shopping this way makes it easy to unpack straight into the pantry!
