Having a clean and organized home is one of the ways I am showing self-love this year. You guys know I prefer cloth towels over paper towels to reduce waste and only use non-toxic cleaning products! I recently switched from regular cloth to Microfiber cloth for cleaning after learning about mechanical cleaning through Norwex.

Mechanical Vs Chemical Cleaning

What About Microfiber Pollution?

Microfiber pollution refers to the pieces of plastic – called microplastics – that shed off our microfibers in the laundry, and later emerge in marine and freshwater environments. These microplastics then cause pollution, as well as injury and death to local wildlife and marine life.

Norwex Microfiber is made from polyester and polyamide (both synthetic materials), any breakdown of these materials in the wash can cause it to shed. But here’s some good news! Because Norwex Microfiber is so tightly woven it actually sheds very little.

In fact, testing shows that after 200 washes an EnviroCloth loses only .026 of an ounce. When compared with the weight of the plastic packaging of most typical cleaning products, Norwex Microfiber is a much more sustainable option.

1. Enviro Cloth

This is your “Everything Cloth” that you can use to clean literally every surface in your home with JUST WATER!

How to Use

Fold the cloth so you have eight clean sides.

Use damp for general cleaning and heavily soiled surface. Run it underwater and wring it out tightly and clean the surface. It makes cleaning so EASY! Once done, rinse the cloth and hang dry.

Use dry to attract dust and dirt particles, and to clean up spills.

How to Use

For heavily soiled surfaces, first clean with a wet EnviroCloth, then polish with the Window Cloth.

To clean shiny surfaces, lightly mist with water and polish with a dry Window Cloth.

Please DO NOT use it on anti-glare surfaces (like cell phones, glasses, computer screens, tv screens, etc). It will remove the antiglare coating. Please use the Norwex Optic Scarf to clean anti-glare surfaces.

3. Cleaning Paste

Elbow grease in a jar! This is the product you need for those tougher cleaning jobs that need more scrubbing power!

How to Use

Swipe a damp EnviroCloth or SpiriSponge across the paste two or three times. Clean the surface then rinse with water. Repeat it until the surface is clean.

A little goes a long way, so this canister will last you a long time. We love to use this to MAVX clean our electric stovetop, our sinks, and ovens, and to remove the permanent marker off the surfaces.

How to Use

Just slip it on your hand and dust it!

5. Laundry Detergent

The highly concentrated and plant-based powder fights stains and gets your clothes extra clean all without the harmful chemicals like phosphates and other fillers. This is the detergent I also use to wash the Norwex microfiber cloths.

How to Use

Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent: I follow the instructions on the packet on how much to use based on the size of the load. If you have a HE machine, you need very less probably a teaspoon per load.

Liquid Laundry Detergent: Just a few pumps is all you need – even less in an HE machine!

In a spray bottle diluted with water and use it as an all-purpose cleaner to clean:

• Carpet and/or upholstery
• Jewelry
• Soak and clean makeup brushes
• Clean pet messes on hard floors
• Pre-treat stubborn carpet stains

How to Wash and Take Care of your Norwex Cloth

1. Between uses, scrub cloth against itself under running water, then wring out tightly & hang to dry.
2.  To launder, I use the Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent to wash in the washer and air dry it. Norwex Microfibre can be placed in a moderate dryer up to 60°C.Follow these rules when washing in the washing machine:
   A. Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or dryer sheets when laundering microfibres as these additives coat the surface of the fibers and reduce the microfibre’s ability to clean effectively.
   B. Do not launder with linty loads, such as terry towels.
3. For deep stubborn stains or odors, Norwex Microfibre can be boiled for 2-3 minutes to allow fibers to swell and release the debris.
4. Do not use Norwex Microfibre on hot surfaces or cookware
