Navratri 2022 Day 5 color is Green. It represents growth, fertility, and serenity. Goddess Durga’s fourth avatar, Maa Skandmata, is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. Her name comes from Skanda, an alternate name for the war god Kartikeya, and Mata, meaning mother. Skandmata, the avatar of motherhood, is known for being kind, compassionate, and full of love for others.
Little background
Navratri is one of the few festivals that is celebrated all across India with equal devotion. This year, Navratri is celebrated from September 26 to October 5. The ten-day festival worships Goddess Shakti or Goddess Durga. Navratri, literally translating to nine nights, worships the nine avatars of Goddess Durga each day of the festival. The nine avatars are – Maa Shailputri, Maa Brahmcharini, Maa Chandraghanta, Maa Kushmanda, Maa Skandmata, Maa Katyayani, Maa Kaalratri, Maa Mahagauri, and Maa Siddhidatri. Each day is ascribed to a specific color and is associated with one form of Goddess Durga. Those who celebrate Navratri dress up in the specific color of the day and prepare foods in the same color and offer it to the goddess as the prasad. Are you bored of seeing me in a saree every day? if yes, here is a refreshing look for you. If your answer is no, sorry to disappoint, I had planned a saree for today but didn’t have enough time to drape it, so chose this gorgeous neon green kurta set from the Loom instead. I love the flowy and breathable fabric; although the dress has a lot of flare, it doesn’t look bulky or shapeless.
I styled it with pure silver jewelry. I am obsessed with these Jhumkas; so unique designs, aren’t it? these will look stunning even on Western outfits. I went with a simple choker to balance the statement Jhumkas and finished it with silver Kada bangles and white juttis
