With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I wanted to share my favorite spring Mommy and Me Matching Outfit Ideas

A quick Pinterest or Google search will bring a ton of mommy and me looks for mom and daughters but not many for mommy and son matching ideas. As much as I love twinning with my little boy, finding outfits for us to twin has never been easy. I learned a few tricks to create cute and stylish coordinated mommy and sons or family outfits when you can’t find exact same pieces. Keep reading for the tips.

Tips to Create Matching Mommy and Me Outfits

Match the theme– The outfits don’t have to be in the same exact prints; they can be in the same theme. Ex- I am wearing a floral print dress in the above outfit, and Vihaan is wearing a tropical leaf print. They are both perfect for Spring and Summer.
Match the Style– You don’t have to wear the same clothes but outfits with similar vibes. The key is to match the most focused piece in the outfit. Ex- creating a twinning denim jacket outfit. You can wear a jumpsuit with a denim jacket, while you little can wear a dress/ t-shirt and pants with a denim jacket. You can keep the color palette the same for a more cohesive look.
Match the Colors with the same tone or hue- Matching the color is one of the easiest ways to have a harmonious look which is the key to a matching outfit. If you can’t find the outfit in the same exact color, you can go for colors in the same tone or hue, like brown shade instead of Tan, or soft lilac with baby pink, etc.
Matching Graphic Tee– Wearing a matching graphic tee that shares a custom message or pic is a great way to create a casual matching look. Since the focus goes towards the tee, you don’t have to wear exact same bottoms.
Matching Pajamas- For Mother’s Day, if you are staying in and just chilling, wearing matching pajamas is a great way to make the day more special.
