If you are anything like me who loves everything chic but a little tom boyish at heart, then you will love the boho grunge style. It is more bold, punk and rock n roll than the original boho look, with tough leather jackets, bold jewelry, and black boots that convey the grunge “don’t care” attitude really well.
Instead of neon-dyed prints that we used to love every summer, this season it’s all about subtle and sophisticated print tie dyes that are seen all over the runways. Shibori (a Japanese style of lightly tie-dyed fabric) is such a tie dye that is getting all the craze. This Forever 21 maxi is a perfect example of a modern Shibori tie-dye print that has a retro and bohemian vibe to it. The subtlety of the print makes it easy to accessorize and layer. Moreover, the black-white combo of the dress goes really well with the black leather jacket and shoes.
For the boho grunge jewelry, I mixed silver and gold not because I couldn’t pick which one to wear (duh!) but because I love the antique look gold adds to any outfit. Though bohemian is all about silver accessories, I love a hint of gold to all my accessories (so typical Indian of me).
