My holy grail DIY Belly Oil is made with natural ingredients like avocado, rosehip, almond oils, and other nourishing oils. It’s perfect for pregnancy or as a daily moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and smooth!
Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it also brings many changes to your body, especially around your belly as it stretches to accommodate your growing baby. During my first pregnancy, I experienced severe itching and redness, and no store-bought product seemed to help. That’s when I decided to create my own belly oil, which turned out to be a game changer. This time around, I started using it from the beginning of my pregnancy, and I’m thrilled to share that I haven’t experienced any itching or dryness. My skin feels incredibly soft and hydrated, and I know this oil will be just as essential in postpartum when dry, flaky skin can be a challenge.
The DIY belly oil recipe doesn’t include essential oils, so you don’t have to worry about potential irritation or safety concerns during pregnancy. It consists solely of carrier oils, making it gentle and suitable for your changing skin. Whether you’re pregnant or not, this oil makes an excellent everyday body moisturizer. I currently use it as my go-to moisturizer and plan to continue even after pregnancy.

Carrier Oil Blend
Before we get into the actual recipe. Here are some tips-
The carrier oils used in this recipe—almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, rosehip oil, and evening primrose oil—are all safe for pregnancy and beyond. For the best results, I recommend using all the oils listed. I’ve provided two different measurements: a smaller batch (for a 4 oz bottle) and a larger batch (for a 16 oz bottle). You can start with the small batch to see how you like it before making a bigger one.
This recipe doesn’t include any essential oils to keep it safe for pregnancy. However, if you’re using it as a body moisturizer post-pregnancy after you’ve stopped breastfeeding, you can add essential oils for fragrance and extra benefits. I personally love geranium oil for its beautiful rose-like scent.
I follow 2% dilution (the process of diluting essential oils with carrier/base oils).
1 cup/16 tbsp/236 ml of base oil= 48 drops of essential oil
Does this Oil Prevent Stretch Marks
Yes, if used regularly, this oil can help keep your skin hydrated and nourished, potentially reducing the appearance of stretch marks. However, stretch marks can also be influenced by genetics, so results may vary.
Can A non-Pregnant Women USe this Oil?
Yes, whether you’re pregnant or not, this oil works beautifully as a versatile body oil, ideal for massages or as a daily moisturizer to keep your skin soft, smooth, and deeply nourished.
