For Day 8, I draped a Banarasi Georgette saree with all-over banarasi weaving and handwork Bandhani Saree. Georgette sarees have quickly become a newfound love of mine; they are easy to drape, and the pleats fall beautifully with minimal effort and look graceful. This convenience is perfect for festivals and events where the luxury of time for draping an elaborate Kanjeevaram may be scarce.
Banarasi Legacy- Banarasi sarees are woven in the holy city of Varanasi, formerly known as Banaras, and are an integral part of Indian culture and tradition. The use of fine silk or Georgette fabric and opulent zari work is a hallmark of Banarasi sarees.
Bandhani- Bandhani is a traditional tie-dye technique that involves skillfully tying small portions of the fabric with threads to create intricate patterns. The fabric is then dyed, resulting in beautiful, distinctive designs. Bandhani is an ancient art form that has been passed down through generations, and it adds a sense of tradition and craftsmanship to the saree.
When it comes to jewelry, I paired the saree with a beautiful pearl necklace. This necklace complemented the delicate pearl work on the blouse sleeve ends and harmonized beautifully with the earrings adorned with pearl “champasaralu” (the string that goes from the ear to the hair). The pearls exuded a classic and regal charm and enhanced the opulence of the Banarasi Georgette Bandhani Saree.
The Pearl necklace is from Shinediamonds, renowned for their expertise in beads and pearls, and they offers competitive pricing. I have bought a few mala sets from them and have been thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of their products.Shop The Post
