Kicking off the holiday season with this Indo-western Diwali Outfit with Velvet Nap Dress. Remember this Hillhouse dress from last holiday season? Giving it a desi twist this year for Diwali. With this, I am officially announcing my holiday outfit series! In this series, I will re-style pieces (clothing and accessories) I already own in my closet differently or remix old pieces with new ones to create holiday causal and dressy looks. You can expect indo-western, western, and traditional outfits in this series.
If you re-create any of the looks or want to in the fun of dressing up for the holidays. Use the hashtag #ClosetRemixwithSuri and tag me on Instagram so I can see your post and re-share it. Maybe I will do a blog post of all my top favorites from the shares. Let’s have some fun shopping our closet this holiday season!
This Hillhouse Nap dress is what I call dressy casual. It feels like you wrapped a fleece blanket, but it looks like you are headed to a party. It’s cozy and chic! the dress is also maternity and nursing friendly. It fits loose; I sized down one size to XS.
I paired the dress with a printed Organza dupatta and a 925 silver statement Victorian necklace. The necklace was a splurge, but it’s truly a head-turner and offers a grand look without overly accessorizing. I have styled it with an Orange saree here. The big Jhumkas that came with the necklace convinced me to pull the plug on this necklace set.
