When I was a kid, I didn’t like getting ready and attending weddings. Now, I jump at every excuse to dress up. Knowing what to wear to a wedding isn’t always easy, especially when the invitation is vague. Indian weddings don’t usually have a dress code but they do expect you show up in traditional wear. So, I am used to wearing whatever I think appropriate for the wedding theme.
The best-dressed guest always gets one thing right- Outfit that pairs well with the wedding theme while embracing the season classics/trends.
Below are dresses I would personally wear for a wedding at this time of the year. All the dresses I showcased are modest, theme-appropriate and are perfect for the weather now!
1. Rustic Wedding Guest Look:
Whether it’s a barn wedding or an outdoor wedding in a countryside setting, dressing for a rustic wedding theme is relatively easy, since lace dresses, floral dresses are always trending and easy to find.
My favorite dress to wear to a rustic wedding is this H&M lace dress that comes in 4 other colors. I added summer vibes to the dress by pairing it with Espadrilles and straw tote. I finished the look with trending pearl hair clips.
I did add a bit of white to this outfit. If you think it might offend the bride. You can opt for pink or light blue instead.

2. Classy Romantic Wedding Guest Look:
Romantic weddings are all about celebrating romance with soft hues, and airy fabrics. Pastel color and floral dresses are the best choices for this wedding theme. You can also go for feminine fabric like lace and prints like polka dots.
I absolutely love this pleated dress from Ivy City co. It’s a soft lavender color dress with pleated flutter sleeves. I added vintage/classy vibes to the outfit with the pearl headband. I

3. Outdoor Garden Wedding Guest Look:
Garden weddings range from low-key affairs at home in the backyard, to elaborate spreads in large parks surrounded by floral canopy and fountains. Naturally, the easiest way to look pretty is to go for a floral dress. If you want to stand out, go for a colorful printed dress that gives an impression of florals like this dress and pair with floral jewelry like these earrings.

4. Bohemian/Informal Wedding Guest Look:
The bohemian wedding theme is a little laid back compared to other wedding themes. Since the focus is usually not on what everyone is wearing but how everyone is feeling. You can opt for a flowy maxi dress or a hi-low dress or a ruffled hem dress like the one I am wearing.
My favorite dress to wear to an informal/bohemian wedding is this Wynsum dress. The warm color is perfect for a nighttime wedding and for the early fall weather. For accessories, I went with a pouch bag and a braided headband.
Wearing: Wynsum dress c/o (wearing XS; acc to their size chart its XXS but sized up one size to XS) | Wedges | similar Pouch Bag | Braided Headband c/o | Earrings
5. Beach Wedding Guest Look:
Some Beach weddings are more elegant and call for beach cocktail wear, think resort chic and some are super laid back like a bohemian wedding. One dress that will go perfect for both type of weddings is a kimono dress
Floral Kimono as a dress (similar here, here and here) | Peek a boo chic slip c/o | Wedges | Earrings | similar straw bag here and here | Pearl Clips ($5)
