Navratri 2022 Day 3 color is Royal Blue. It symbolizes courage, royalty, and elegance. Goddess Durga’s third avatar, Maa Chandraghanta, is worshipped on the third day of Navratri. Chandraghanta is the married form of Goddess Parvati. She mounts a tiger, has ten hands, and wears the semi-circular moon (Chandra) on her forehead. The half-moon on her forehead looks like the bell (Ghanta), and she is known as Chandra-Ghanta. She is the symbol of fearlessness and courage.

Little background

Navratri is one of the few festivals that is celebrated all across India with equal devotion. Navratri 2022 begins on September 26, 2022, and will culminate with Vijayadashami on October 5. The festival is dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga and all her nine incarnations. Many people observe fast or eat sattvik food during the nine days of the festival. Each day is ascribed to a specific color and is associated with one form of Goddess Durga. Those who celebrate Navratri dress up in the specific color of the day and prepare foods in the same color and offer it to the goddess as the prasad. Here is the list of Navratri colors if you are looking to celebrate.

Coming to the outfit, I am wearing my mom’s Gadwal saree. It’s my first time draping a Gadwal; I must say it was an easy drape, the saree is lightweight, but I would prefer Kanjeevarams or Banarasi saree over them; cause the saree stays in place because it’s stiff and heavy. The Gadwal took me less than,15 minutes, to drape but the pallu was constantly slipping away. I had a hard time managing it. Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to them. Nevertheless, love Gadwals cause they offer the old-school classy look that I am a sucker for.

I love the color of the saree, the deep blue with a rich zari border is such an unusual combo. It’s the same color as the blue school uniforms we had as kids, but the rich gold zari border and pallu make it more interesting and grand.

I went with the Workwear theme (check the western look in Royal Blue here) and wanted the zari border to be the highlight, so kept the jewelry simple with a dainty pearl necklace and silver Jhumkas.
