Our little secret is finally out—we’re expecting baby #2 in November 2024 (check out the pregnancy announcement reel here)! It was a lot harder to hide physically this time around; my belly started showing pretty early, and I stopped fitting into a lot of my clothes already! If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been holding a bag near my belly to cover it in all my recent reels. I wanted to wait until I reached the fifth month to announce it, so here we are. I am so excited to share this happy news with my online family—YOU!

When did you find out you were Pregnant?

We found out I was pregnant towards the end of our India trip back in April. When I missed my period, I took an at-home pregnancy test, and it came back positive. We shared the news with my sister-in-law and she made an OBGYN appointment for us to confirm the pregnancy without telling our parents. I initially thought I was only two weeks along, but to my surprise, the doctor confirmed I was already eight weeks pregnant! This meant I had conceived in February, well before our India trip, and didn’t realize I had missed my period in March. My cycles are usually very regular, so I always notice when I miss one.

March was an incredibly busy month for us, with planning the India trip, celebrating V’s birthday, and preparing for the launch of a project I’d been working on for over a year. On top of all that, we had a major plumbing issue at home. With so much going on, I didn’t have a moment to think about myself. In hindsight, it was a blessing. If I had known I was pregnant, we wouldn’t have traveled to India, and I wouldn’t have had the chance to share the news in person or experience the happiness and all the tight, warm hugs from my mom and others.

The funniest part was that I kept complaining the whole trip about not being able to enjoy the food because of the warm weather, but it turned out it was all because I was pregnant! Luckily, I didn’t experience any nausea until I was three months along, just food aversions and not being able to taste or enjoy the food. I’m still surprised that I traveled so much in the first two months of my pregnancy.

When we started thinking about baby #2 (not until the end of last year), I had this deep desire to take V to India and have one-on-one time with him before our life got chaotic again. I completely manifested the India trip, and I’m so grateful we were able to have a memorable trip!

Did you tell V and what was his reaction?

When we told Vihaan that I have a baby in my tummy, he looked at me like I was joking! We took him to one of my doctor’s appointments, and in the examination room, there was a picture of a baby in the womb. When I showed it to him and explained it, he was able to visualize it and was convinced. Since then, he randomly comes up to me and says, “Amma, you have a baby in your tummy. Can I see it?” Then he lifts my shirt and touches my tummy. It’s the sweetest thing.

How far are you and How are you feeling?

I am 21 weeks and 2 days pregnant today, and according to the Baby Center app, the baby is the size of a carrot. I’m feeling pretty much like myself! My food aversions have improved, and I’m so thankful that I only had a little bit of nausea/morning sickness during my first trimester. Unlike my first pregnancy, I didn’t have chills or fever symptoms this time. However, I am getting overly emotional about the tiniest things, and frequent headaches, just like in my first pregnancy, are not making it fun. I am taking more rest and eating well than usual. Hoping the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly as well.
