For the longest time, I was scared of wearing hi-top sneakers. Firstly they make you look short, and second, they are very masculine. I’m usually attracted to adding a masculine touch to my outfits but hi-tops were a big no. I didn’t realize how cool and chic they could look until I tried Time slippers popular hi-top slippers. They are the comfiest sneakers I own. The insoles are made of a yoga mat, that feels like a bed for the feet.
If you haven’t checked my Instagram giveaway yet, you can win a pair of sneakers from Time Slippers. The rules are pretty simple, check my Instagram post HERE and follow the steps. The giveaway ends tomorrow.
Coming back to the post, the Street style has changed the purpose of sneakers. They are not limited to just the gym anymore. You can practically wear them with anything you have in mind, dresses, skirts, jeans, and leggings. The best part is that they are as comfortable as they are cool, and they’re the ideal alternative to ankle boots.
If you are still in the notion that hi-tops are not girly. Here are 3 outfits that hopefully will change your mind.
3 Chic Ways to Wear Hi-top Sneakers
1. Classy style with skinny jeans and a chic coat
There isn’t any style that wouldn’t go well with skinny jeans. I opted for a feminine color coat but you can rock this outfit with a trench or men’s wear coat.
2. Minimal with a Sass
The perfect mod-meets-feminine look. It’s classy, trendy, and has the right amount of sass I like.
Wearing: Jeans c/o Liverpool | T-shirt | Vest (similar 1,2,3) | Bag | Sunglasses | Hat | Sneakers (c/o)
3. Casual Chic
The best way to wear hi-tops sneakers if you are vertically challenged like me is with knee-length dresses. The bare legs create the illusion of longer legs, making you look taller.
Wearing: Floral dress ($26) | Sweater | Faux Suede Jacket (also like this and this) | Satchel | Sunglasses under $10
