There is no doubt that I am into neutral color combinations these days. I felt inspired by the snow we had last week to wear neutral colors or I can just accept the fact that the cold weather is making me lazy these days. Either way, neutrals are my fail-safe way to get ready when I run out of color ideas or when I am running late. They make it appear as if I have put in a lot of effort to dress up.
Why Neutrals?
- They are the foundation of your wardrobe, everything almost starts and ends with them.
- They work really well with each other, so everything always matches however you mix them.
- They emphasize the bold elements in your outfit like your jewelry, handbag, and shoes.
- They are classics so you can wear them over and over and people won’t notice you are repeating.
- You focus on fit and style because the color is not a preference.
I have put together 6 neutral color combinations in the following hues and prints. Neutral Hues: Beige, White, Cream, Sand, Olive, Nude, Tan, Light Grey, Camel, Mocha, Charcoal, Black Neutral Prints: Stripes, Plaid, Gingham, Leopard; Fabric- Chambray/Denim
These are the outfits I usually wear to work. You can easily switch the jeans with trousers.
6 Winter Neutral Color Combinations To Try
1. Camel+ Grey + Black (hint of Chambray)
Grey and Cognac is a very classy combo for business casuals. For this outfit, I added a hint of chambray to it to mix things up. Lakki (my bff and my photographer) wore a similar combination during our NYC trip, see here. She wore it with Gingham shirt instead. I love both combinations but this chambray shirt with a ruffle neck adds a feminine touch to the outfit.

2. White + Grey + Nude (hint of Sand and Beige)
This is one of my favorite outfits on the blog and a popular one too. It’s an easy blend of many neutral shades. I didn’t own any white jeans until last year when I finally decided to give it a try. White jeans are really tricky to wear, first, they are not flattering always, second you have to look out for where you are sitting.
Finding the right fit that doesn’t make you look chubby is my number priority when I’m choosing light shade jeans. I am glad I found my perfect white pair at Asos.

3. Beige + White + Black (hint of camel)
This outfit is the best example of all the items I’m absolutely obsessed with- sweater, jeans, coat, and scarf!. I want to highlight the Jcrew lady coat here. If you are wondering why they are so popular, so let me tell you, they have the most flattering fit, period! If you are petite, you will love it to pieces (I promise!). They come in regular, petite and tall sizes and in many colors. The hard part is to find your size in stock as they sell out pretty quick esp when they are on sale. The only thing I didn’t like is the alignment of the pockets. They are bit behind compare to regular coats, you have to literally search for the pocket holes. Apart from that, the coat is very very warm and worth every penny.

4. Gingham+ Grey + Nude (hint of beige, camel, and ivory)
Gingham has to make it to my neutral list because my wardrobe is incomplete without checks and stripes. I actually posted this on my insta stories last month and I got so many compliments. I wore it with nutmeg pumps instead of boots. I always say this- there is a pink color and there is a pretty pink color :D. This coat is what I call the prettiest pink color.

5. Olive + Beige (hint of leopard and black)
Moto jeggings are not my style but I love this pants, they are comfy and fit my pear shape body really well. I also styled them in 3 ways IN THIS POST, if you missed it. At times I decide my outfits based on the shoes I want to wear and this outfit is the best example of that.
